Anti-Austerity Alliance TD Mick Barry has had the front of his constituency office in Blackpool, Cork, sprayed with the words ‘baby killer out’ overnight.
Deputy Barry has reported the incident to the Gardaí, claiming that many anti-abortion activists “resort to vandalism”.
Deputy Barry described the action as “disgraceful”, saying: “We will win this debate on the strength of our arguments and it is interesting that many of our anti-abortion opponents resort to vandalism rather than engaging in rational debate.
“We are campaigning for the repeal of the 8th Amendment and abortion rights for Irish women,” he told the Independent.
It comes two days after Mr Barry, along with five other Anti-Austerity Alliance People Before Profit TDs, wore ‘Repeal’ jumpers in the Dáil.
