
National weather forecaster Met Eireann has issued a new weather warning this afternoon.
The Status Yellow preliminary warning for Wexford, Wicklow, Cork and Waterford, will be valid from 9pm tomorrow (Saturday) until 2pm on Sunday.

The warning, which was issued at 4pm today, states: “There is the risk of some heavy/thundery rain Saturday night/Sunday morning giving some local spot flooding.”
An earlier Status Yellow Rainfall Warning for Cork and Kerry remains in effect until 9am tomorrow morning.

This warning states: “A spell of heavy rain is expected to develop on Friday over south Munster.
“It will continue overnight, before clearing northwards during Saturday morning.
“25 to 40 mm of rain are expected, with the highest values expected over Kerry and west Cork.”
