Wedding bells for Cork star as Bríd ties knot with Cárthach

IT was a match made in heaven in Rockchapel yesterday as Cork footballer Bríd Stack married fellow sports star Cárthach Keane.

A host of top GAA names in Cork joined the couple’s families and friends to celebrate the big day.
The two teachers tied the knot in the sunshine at St Peter’s Church.
Bríd, a secondary school teacher in Carrigaline Community School, is one of Cork’s greatest GAA player having won seven All-Stars and being named senior Player of Year for 2016.
Of the 11 All-Ireland senior title Cork have won over the last 12 years, Brid played in every minute of every one of them.
Playing in defence she has been the backbone of the team for more than a decade.
A host of top GAA names attended yesterday’s wedding including fellow Cork footballers Vera Foley, Valerie Mulcahy, Juliet Murphy, Rena Buckley and Nollaig Cleary, along with Cork County Board Vice-chair Tracey Kennedy.
Cárthach Keane is also a key player with Newcestown, playing with both the club’s senior hurlers and footballers.
