MÍCHÉAL O’Muircheartaigh will be the Cultural Ambassador at Cork Culture Night later this month, with more than 200 free events taking place in 100 venues.
The legendary GAA announcer’s role was revealed at the launch of the Culture Night programme in City Hall.
Speaking at the launch, the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Chris O’ Leary said
“Culture Night is a gift from the City, which is so generously offered by the cultural sector in Cork with over 200 free events in over 100 venues. It’s a night that never disappoints,” he added.
Mr O’Muircheartaigh will be in Gael Taca on the night, Friday September 18, for an evening of songs and storytelling. While the voice of the GAA comes from Dingle, on the night he will tell stories from his time a Colaiste Iosagain in Baile Bhuirne.
