THE Corkman who suffered a serious brain injury after being punched on a night out in Australia has been moved out of intensive care.
Jason Cierans, 29, from Mount Nebo Avenue in Gurranabraher, has been moved to a neurology ward in recent days, after waking from an induced coma.
Jason was punched in an incident at Bondi Junction on August 22.

Last night, former colleagues of Jason held a waxing night in the Rock Bar on Gillabbey Street to raise funds for him and his family.

His parents Declan and Stephanie and brother Jamie remain at his side in Australia.
His aunt Fidelma Casey said his mother has shown him messages of love and well wishes on his Facebook page, which was very emotional.
Fidelma said: “The tears were rolling down his face.”
He will undergo brain surgery in a number of weeks, when swelling has reduced.
An Argentinean man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the Mount Nebo Avenue man and is due back in Waverley Local Court on October 22.
A 27-year-old man has also been charged with affray and will appear in court on September 24.
A fundraising entertainment night will be in the Commons Inn on September 18.
Myles Gaffney will perform at the event, along with a new band called Flake the Gander, which also features Crystal Swing’s Derek Burke. DJ Eric Howey will also lend his support to the event.
Tickets will cost €10 and there will be spot prizes galore on the evening. A new bank account has been set up for donations for Jason and his family. to help them meet medical and accommodation expenses in Australia.
