A DOG with a ruptured eardrum, found tied to a ditch on the north side of the city, is now ready to be rehoused.
Millie the dog as she was when she was found tied to a ditch
The dog, formerly known as Millie and now called Lexi, was discovered on July 30 and rescued by the Cork Dog Action Welfare Group.
Her case was highlighted by the Evening Echo in a report on animal cruelty in Cork city and county.
The dog had been badly beaten and had suffered the ruptured eardrum as a result.
When volunteers went to the site, they initially thought she was dead, because flies were hovering on her and she was semi-conscious. She was unable to walk. It was also evident she had recently given birth to pups, because she still had a milk supply. She is believed to be 18 months old.
Millie is now in a foster home ready to be rehomed.
She has been fostered in recent months and is now ready to be rehoused.
The CDAWG said she is great with other dogs, loves to play and loves human contact.
Applications to rehouse her are now being taken by the Cork Dog Action Welfare Group, who can be contacted at www.dogactionwelfaregroup.ie, or by text on 086-3457488.
