Eyes on the prize for young Cork designer

A Cork student has made it to the final of a national competition for her innovative wedding dress design.

Zoe Murphy is through to the finals of the Wedding Journal “Young Designer of the Year 2016” competition, after making it through a public vote.>Entrants first submitted mood board entries, with Zoe making it through the initial 80 entries to 10 shortlisted wedding dress designs. That short-list was then whittled down even further.

The dresses will be showcased on the catwalk at The Wedding Journal  Show in Dublin, Belfast and Cork in January.

Zoe attends St Johns Central College and her wedding dress design was based on fashion of the fifties.

The finalists now have six weeks to make their wedding dresses, which will be exhibited on the bridal  catwalk at The Wedding Journal Show which comes to Cork on January 16 and 17.
